St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival

On May 2nd at Holy Trinity in Wilmington, Delaware, the Metropolis level competition for the St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival was held and the participants from our parish did exceptionally well!
Senior Division (grades 10-12): Marianna Drapas, Honorable Mention
Junior Division (grades 7-9): Ben Joiner, Honorable Mention
Holy Apostles has in years' past excelled in this Metropolis competition, and 2026 was no exception! We are exceedingly proud of Marianna and Ben – congratulations to you both!
On March 14th, right here at HAGOC, the District level competition for the St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival was held and the participants from our parish did exceptionally well!
Senior Division (grades 10-12): Marianna Drapas (2nd place)
Junior Division (grades 7-9): Ben Joiner (2nd place); Mark Wenzel (3rd place)
HAGOC has in years' past excelled in this District competition, and 2026 was no exception! We are exceedingly proud of Marianna, Ben and Mark – and to have such recognition for our parish is truly exciting!
By earning 2nd Place in the Senior Division, Marianna will continue on to the next level of competition - Metropolis. Ben will also continue on to the Metropolis competition, having earned 2nd Place in the Junior Division. The Metropolis competition is scheduled for May 2nd at St. George in Bethesda, Maryland.
Congratulations again to Marianna, Ben and Mark – thank you for being such terrific representatives for our parish! And best wishes to Marianna and Ben at the Metropolis competition!
